"Christina's photography sessions were structured, productive, and most of all, quite fun. They were hands-on and easy to get into, perfect for a beginner such as myself. She was also quite accommodating, having granted my request for lessons on the entrepreneurial aspects of running your own business. Her high level of expertise, flexibility, and empathy, is all I could ask for in a mentor and tutor.". Jacob Viray, Calgary, Alberta
"Christina's class was wonderful! So informative and educational. She was patient and explained everything exactly the way I needed to learn. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for photography lessons to Christina." -Cherie Hunt, Calgary, Alberta
"I've never used a DLSR prior to the two hour course with Christina. She made everything very easy to understand and now I feel like I have a much better understanding of how to manipulate my camera in order to get the most out of it." -Dan Thomspon, Calgary, Alberta
"After owning my camera for almost 2 years and afraid to use anything other than the automatic mode, I decided to sign up for Christina’s 1 on 1 photography class. Christina taught me an in-depth lesson on how to use the different modes on my camera. Her expertise, patience and love of photography inspired me to get out automatic mode and practice using different modes and functions. I feel that I have grasped the basics of photography and I’m now able to capture beautiful moments of my friends and family. I believe her approach to teaching allowed me to learn at my own speed and gave me the opportunity to ask lots of questions and seek feedback. Her costs are low and the rewards are high. I feel like I learnt more from her 2 hours of teaching than I would have at a registered course. I highly recommend her class to anyone who is new to photography or anyone who wants to further their knowledge! She’s amazing!" -Heather Macrae, Calgary, Alberta
I offer several classes. You can come to me, or I can come to you!
Go at your pace, with the goal in mind, that together we will create a beautiful piece of photography that you created and will be proud of. Perhaps, its a canvas, calendar, or a canvas bag with your photo on it! Lesson Material and hands on practice. An extra camera can be available, if you haven't yet purchased one, or if you wish to have a semi private lesson, and someone doesn't have a camera. Cost for 1 person $40/hr. 2 people $35/hr each, 3 people $30/hr each.
First lesson usually takes 2 hours. I will give you a great understanding of your camera features, the dials, the lenses, and if you want to achieve a look, what you would do. It will help you to be able to walk into a camera store, and have it make sense, without it feeling like you are learning a new language. As you will understand the gear, you could rent or buy. Another class, is on composition (what makes a photo look good). It usually takes about 1 hr. I work at your pace, and help you along the way. As a full service photographer, I specialized in printed products, so I have the ability to also take you further to create art with what you have created out of your own photography.
I have run several types of photography businesses, have a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, understanding small business, and graphic design. If you are planning on going into a photography business, I know business models, pricing and resources. If you have a type of need for photography for your business, such as product photography. Let me know, and we can further discuss your needs that can help you.
One-on-one or semi-private for lots of personal attention!
